5 things you need to do when blogging on blogger

5 things you need to do when blogging on blogger,, Well, since I moved to blogger again. I found there are some things that bloggers should do. And I would like to share these things to help anyone who moves to blogger. Maybe you start your first blog on blogger.

This is not my first time using the blogger platform. And I've been using it for years before I moved to WordPress. That means I had a lot of experience. However, I thought to share it with you. Because I feel like we must do these things.

5 things you need to do when blogging on blogger

5 things you need to do when blogging on blogger

Let me tell you more about these things. Maybe you are wondering what they are for. That is a good question. These things can be to help you set up the blog. Important things to set up such as SEO and more things.

There are more depending on what you want to do. However, these things some might not know about it. If you are a WordPress user. It would be less complicated and you don't need to do as much work as working on a blogger.

I'm not sure about other blogging platforms. But if you find that you will need these too. That would be interesting. I have not used any blogging platform other than WordPress and blogger. So, I don't know how it works with other platforms.

Well, I didn't like the idea of things happening to me. And I wanted to share these things to save other time. It took me time to know about these things. When they happened to me. It's something that I didn't like. So, these 5 things you need to do when blogging on blogger will help you to enjoy blogging better.

This post is personal and just want to help others who use blogger. And if you have more things in mind not the list of the 5 things you need to do when blogging on blogger. Maybe you already know about them and that's awesome.

1. Learn the basics of the three main coding languages

If you want to use a blogger. Something I learned is that you will need to learn the three main coding languages. That would be HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. I know these on all platforms and you will need to learn them. But when you use blogger, you will use it more often.

You don't need to study a lot about them but just basic. This way, you will be able to edit and fix mistakes. Sometime you will get an issue. And if you know the three coding languages. It will make it easier for you to handle it. That's why it's part of these 5 things you need to do when blogging on a blogger.

These are good for people looking for how to use blogger. Things we need to improve. And even if you move later to WordPress. You will still make good use of what you learned while you blogging using the blogger platform.

I'm actually surprised that some people still use blogger. But that's not a problem at all. Everyone will find a way to get comfortable using any blogging platform. Such as dealing with problems and doing things. And these 5 things you need to do when blogging on blogger.

2. Generate a site map for your blog that works on the blogger platform

Something I found moving back to blogging for the moment. You will need to generate a site map that works in the blogger platform. Well, I didn't like that it's not the same as when blogging in WordPress. So, if you want to blog on blogger. Make sure to generate and do your research about the site map.

If you don't know what is the site map. It's for SEO and helps Google to index your blog posts. This way, readers can find your blog posts when searching using keywords. It's a bit complicated for people who use blogger.

Another thing that I will mention next is what you need to do it as well. That is important for your blog to be indexed. So people can find your content when searching on Google. I didn't know that it will be like that but that's how it goes.

Make sure to spend some time learning about this. You will need to be ready for this. Don't struggle and miss out on getting more traffic from search engines. Well, this is something I learned recently when I moved back to blogger. That's when I decided to share these 5 things you need to do when blogging on a blogger.

3. Regular check for blog post indexing

Well, this is something you need to do when you are blogging on any platform. However, I found that blog posts don't get indexed quick. So, you will need to make sure that your posts are indexed. Sometimes there will be an error and you don't know.

When you publish new posts. You will need to index them manually. Well, right now I'm still looking for a way to do it automatically. But I can't find a way to help me with that. If you have a way, you can share it in the comment.

Even if there is a way to index them automatically. There will be some posts that won't be indexed. So, you will need to do it manually. This is to make sure that you are living on Google all the time. And for every post you post. Therefore, these 5 things you need to do when blogging on a blogger are important.

You can schedule a check every two or three days. That would be a good time. Because you still need to give Google take their time to process. Don't rush because it won't help at all. Plus, when you index them manually. Google will add you to the queue.

4. Block google to count your views on the blog

Another important thing that we need to do when using a blogger. That is going to be blocking Google from counting your views to your blog. Don't let Google count your views to get an accurate number. Because that will mess with your marketing analytics.

You will find that you got so many views but that's because you keep visiting the blog. Things will be a mess. Therefore, I highly recommend that you stop Google from reading your views on your blog. This way, it's only your readers.

Well, there are ways to do that. And one of them uses Google Analytics and filters your IP. Google won't track any views from your IP to your blog. It's something I learned before when I was using the blogger platform when I started blogging.

There are other ways, but you would need to do research about it. Find the perfect one for you. And something that you need to do. If you don't want to use the Google Analytics filtering idea. It's okay to spend some time on this and figure out more about it.

5. Save the progress every step or several steps when editing blog posts

Last but not least, this is something that I struggled with when I came back to blogger. And that losing my progress when editing blog posts. It doesn't save automatically every time. Therefore, you might lose what you have edited before. If you haven't finished yet and still editing. You might lose it any time.

So, I decided that it's a good idea that you manually save the progress. Well, for bloggers, you will need to keep updating until you finish. This is the way to make sure that you don't lose anything. It's not good but whatever to help me avoid keep editing for days haha.

You don't need to save when you do every edit. It can be after a few edits but don't trust it. Something might happen and your edits didn't save. Then, you would need to do everything all over again. That happened to me a few times just when I came back to blogger.

Also, when you write a blog post. But it's a bit different because you can automatically save the post. However, when editing, there is no save progress. That will leave us with one option. Keep updating every few edits or whatever suits you.

  15. I never thought about blocking Google- I can see how that would interfere with getting an accurate count of total visits. But what about those who visit your blog after doing a Google search? You would want to count those.
