Welcome to another post on this blog! This is my second post after the update. And things are going pretty well. In case you missed the previous one. I came back from a little longer break than any break I took before in my life haha. However, this time with an update that changed everything about how I post things. Also, what I write in my blog. This is how to make this awesome DIY office decoration fallen star.

One thing that hasn’t changed yet is my posting schedule, which is two posts each week. This time I came up with something interesting. Bloggers or anyone who wants to decorate the office room or just a normal room. Because this doesn’t have limited use, my goal of using it is to put it in my blogging office. This would make the office more attractive.

I’m sure with this update, I will be able to keep this schedule for as long as I can haha. Because who knows what the future holds for us, you know. Also, I can plan my posts ahead of time. Which was one of my main struggles to keep up with blogging.

How to make this awesome DIY office decoration fallen star

Anyway, I said in my previous post that I will be doing some creative ideas with the stack of papers. And I will be creating content with it. So, I thought to come up with something more interesting, and can’t be gifting this time but for decoration. That is how I came up with how to make this awesome DIY office decoration.

It was a bit difficult to think of an idea. That was only made by paper because every idea I come up, it includes other materials. And I use paper with cardboard to craft amazing projects and share here on this blog.

However, finally, I got this about How to make this awesome DIY office decoration. Which I call the fallen star. Check out my previous post, My return, and a custom lightning bolt gift card with an envelope for holidays and birthdays.

Here is how it goes… I want you to imagine a star falling toward the ground. And it landed somewhere on earth and was surrounded by cones. For observation, clues, and finding out the reasons why it happened or how. 

Well, I couldn’t do it as I imagined because as y’all know, nothing is going to work as planned haha. I had to do paper sticks as a replacement for the cones.

And I wanted it to be more like a 3D scene, but it was a bit difficult. Anyway, I hope you will enjoy reading How to make this awesome DIY office decoration. Crafting the fallen star.    

Materials and tools used for this project

• A4 paper
• Pencil
• Colored pencils
• Ruler
• Glue
• Toy car
• Thick paper

Here are the things we will use to craft this project. And I will use for this tutorial on How to make this awesome DIY office decoration. Everything is easy and simple. But we will end up with something amazing. You can decorate the room with it. Please keep reading to know more about it.

Also, the tutorial on how to make this awesome DIY office decoration is simple and doesn’t require a lot of effort. This will be a plus for people who don’t like to spend so much time. You don’t have to spend a lot of time crafting this DIY decoration.

Usually, I use a glue gun for my craft. However, since its paper. I think you can use any glue as long as it’s strong. Because any glue might not be strong enough to hold it for a long time. So, you need to make sure as a good glue.

DIY craft items

  Let’s get started!

This idea consists of four parts which are a base, star, and paper sticks(replacement for cones). What I will be doing in this tutorial on How to make this awesome DIY office decoration. And more paper sticks as a stand for the star because I couldn’t make it look like a crash. Well, I wanted to make it even more realistic haha.

So I made it look like a museum exhibit lol. This means whoever found the star took good care of it. Anyway, the requirement would be as close as the previous post. Because this will be all about the papers, but with a different process.  

The first step in this process is building the bases, and you will need two thick papers for that. Then, make it a rectangle as shown in the picture above. I don’t have full measurements, but you can measure it to make it enough to hold everything. And that’s what I did because I will add some touches in the end as usual.  

Next, you will need to glue them both together so it can be a little stronger base. This will be thick enough to stand wherever you want to put it as long as it’s flat. Make sure to glue it together really well and smooth so it won’t look like it’s two papers, haha.

FYI

Imagine someone coming to see and find out that it’s two glued together. I think this would ruin the look of it, and they will figure your secret out. They will be like ‘Oh, it’s two papers’ lol. For that, try to glue the two papers really well and be careful with it.

Drawing circles the base

 Moving to the next step, which is simple. Specify the spots where the paper sticks will be standing around the scene, as shown in the picture above. However, as I mentioned earlier that I added more sticks where the star will be standing after landing.

For the lack of equipment for this project. I had to do the circles only using my hand, and that’s why it looks a bit messy haha. I can’t make it as perfect as I imagined as I said lol. Anyway, we know now where everything will be. It’s time to dig the holes and open them for the sticks to get through. So that we can glue them around it and make them stick forever.

The placement of the circles is important. Make sure to do it as you see it in the picture. Because it will ruin the look if you place it differently. In this tutorial on how to make this awesome DIY office decoration, I calculated everything to draw a picture, and that’s why it’s important.

FYI

You can glue the sticks on the circles without digging the holes. For me, I just wanted to take some extra steps haha. And thought might be good to cut the holes open. So, it’s an extra step if you want to skip it or do it your way. That’s one of the extra steps I did on how to make this awesome DIY office decoration.

However, I couldn’t figure out something that could help me with that. Because that kind of circle size is a bit difficult to deal with. So I used an old trick which is to draw over the lines a lot repeatedly. Until it tears off and opens. That worked for me, but if you have something else. You can use it and make it a bit easier. That would be great.

It was difficult for me to open it because of the placement as well haha. After all, I did it one way or another. And that’s what I like about DIY crafts. You can find alternatives to craft it. If you don’t know how to do it or it’s impossible.

Holes on the base for this DIY project

Well, after a few minutes of doing as mentioned in the previous step. I got everything ready for the sticks to go through the holes. And glue it to the base. However, something we are missing is how we can do that when we don’t have the paper sticks? Well, it’s time to start that step and get it done.

I don’t know if this is already on the internet. But I got this idea from my mind after deep thinking of how to do it. Anyway, for this tutorial on How to make this awesome DIY office decoration. I was going to do the square paper stick idea because I think they look better. But I could only do a circle paper stick.

There is not that much difference between both types. Only it takes time to make the square type and that’s why I went with the circle type. I don’t think using thick papers will work on this step. Because it’s difficult to fold it so, I recommend using regular printing papers (A4).

You don’t need the entire paper because the less you fold, the smaller size you will get. Split the paper into different parts vertically so it would make enough size for the holes in the base. Measures depend on your holes, and how many folds you will need to do to make go through the holes?

After figuring out that part about the measures for splitting the paper. You will need to fold as many times as it needs to. Then glue it together so it sticks, and you got yourself a stick. It’s pretty easy, but you need to make sure that you do it slow and careful.

Paper sticks

The picture above shows what the paper sticks will look like. You will need four of them to fill out the base. You will only need to repeat what you did for all the sticks. But with different heights, because the middle ones are going to be with different heights, which would be easy.

Try to cut the four at the edge of the rectangle with the same height, and the middle ones smaller.  

You need to do a trick for the middle paper sticks. That would be is to make the front ones a little smaller than the back ones. That way, it would be easy for you to turn it into a stand. We could use this for the star. Also, squeeze it with your figure and cut it to an angle from which you can glue paper to it.

This is my first time making the paper sticks haha. If you have been reading my DIY crafts. And seen paper sticks. Well, first when I thought of it was for this DIY decoration and how to make this awesome DIY office decoration.    

Glue the sticks to the base

 As you can see in the picture above and how I cut the middle paper sticks. Also, this is after I glued everything to the base. And got everything ready except for the final step. Which is making the fallen star. Make sure to put a little more glue around each paper stick so it doesn’t fall off from the base.

Also, ensure the stability of it all because it would fall off if there was any resistance applied to it. And that would ruin your work. However, you should be careful and don’t put it around kids or something might ruin it for you.

So before making the star, the structure in the picture above won’t let us add the last part. Because it would be difficult to glue it. Therefore, I decided to glue a square cut of the thick paper to the middle paper sticks. Which will be shown in the final look. The star

 I messed up the star a little, but this is the last step of this process. Doing this is the easiest part, which is using thick paper to draw a star using a pencil. And try to cut over the lines and it will look like as shown in the picture above.

Crafting a star is one of my nightmares when I try to add it as decoration or something. So, it wasn’t easy for me because I don’t have steady hands. However, things are going well for this project and how to make this awesome DIY office decoration.

However, since it’s the last step, we need to make things a little colorful. So, we need to color the star. And everything we could. I looked up and found out that a star could have more different colors. Well, blue is one of them, and that is what I colored it.

Also, since everything is happening on the ground. We need to paint the base with the sand color, with the closest color for it, which is brown. I could’ve colored the paper sticks to match the color of the cone, but I didn’t think of it at that time. When I was making the tutorial on How to make this awesome DIY office decoration.

 Finally, I will present to you the fallen star. This can be used as a decoration for an office or a room. This is the final look after doing everything shown in the picture above. This took me a few hours to finish. Because it’s a bit more difficult than what I did in my previous post, but I did it.

The paper sticks weren’t as planned and were a bit messy as you can see in the picture above haha. Well. that is unexpected things that didn’t work very well during the process. But I was able to pull everything together, and this is the matter, after all.  

The ground could have more coloring. Since I didn’t have really good tools at that time. Things weren’t the best. So, if you have better tools. You can make it look even better than that. Although, it’s looking good as it is. But there are some improvements that could be done to it.  

Final touch to the project

I guess things won’t be as good as adding new touches to it haha. I wanted to make it look like land surrounded by stuff and put on some trees. But I guess putting a car with an opened door would be good as well. That is going to be closer to a realistic scene haha.

A person investigated the scene and parked near it. That’s what was going on in my mind when I made that. And It turned out to be a really good idea. If you have other Legos. Maybe trees or something you can add to the final look.
